The Path
From the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean
I walked along my heart,
as the earth rimmed my soul, and I wonder.
Is this landscape my road?
For what this walk has taken me far
when it began so long ago
to end at the ancient place,
but the full stroll is yet to be completed
-It is a roundtrip
of dune mistakes, and triumph on leash
and on lease-,
and before reaching the unfinished line
I began leading my mind
to the trail of silence and stillness
while in the distance
remain more lessons
that I will gather to end the way.
Meanwhile, I am dreaming
while missing
the song of the white shorebirds
that set the sun from view,
calming,
and soothing
the waves of the Atlantic breeze.

El sendero
Desde el Atlántico al Pacifico
junto a los latidos de mi corazón,
y la tierra que bordea mi alma,
he andado para indagar
si es este paisaje mi camino a seguir.
Y es que el andar me ha traído lejos
cuando comenzó hace tiempo ya
para llegar a la ciudad legendaria.
Pero aunque no se haya completado
es todo un boleto de ida y vuelta
de oscuros errores, triunfos presos
y prestados.
Pero antes de llegar a mi última estación
he comenzado aquietar la mente
con total serenidad.
Y así diviso en la distancia
otras lecciones más
que recopilaré antes del día final.
Entre tanto mitigo
y extraño
el canto de las blancas gaviotas
que me esconden de la vista del sol
calmando
y serenando
el Atlántico, con sus olas y su brisa.
